About Me

I am a former small town girl.  I attended Appalachian State University in the late 90s.  I became a vegetarian.  I married Scott when I was twenty.  I became a mom at twenty-one when Julian was born.  I graduated college and earned a degree in Child Development.  We had our second child, Madelyn.  We became interested in homeschooling our children and decided to give it a try.  We became vegan.  We had our third child, Kalen.  Scott began dreaming of Ph.D. work.  My days were full of mothering and homeschooling.  We had our fourth child, Brayden.  Scott was accepted at UNC.  We moved from the sweet town of Boone to the city of Durham.

I am a city girl now.  I am currently a licensed foster parent and have fostered 7 kids to date.  I am an assistant teacher at a local charter school in Kindergarten.  I love cooking and baking.  I enjoy photography.  Blogging is a fun release for me.  I love the color yellow.  I love the sunshine.  I enjoy nature, but I enjoy just as much to be cozy on my couch with my husband and my blanket.  I love cooking and baking vegan food.  I love art.  I am not a morning person.  I am a soccer mom.  I am a regular thrift store shopper.  I love to wear skirts.  I have a new found love of reading.  I like sewing and crocheting, but I am not an expert at either.  I think growing our own food is ideal.  I enjoy time with my family.  I love playing games with my kids, feeding them, teaching them, and watching them grow.  I love watching movies with Scott.  He is my favorite person in the world.

    Hey Anna!
Was thinking of you and your family this weekend! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary by staying in Blowing Rock – actually right across from B. R. Elementary at Crippins. We ate ice cream from Kilwin’s at the park and hiked on the Glen Burney trail. 🙂 Drove into Boone a good bit, too. Holy cow – has the campus ever changed from our days there. Anyway, it was a perfect Boone spring weekend, and I know you understand what I mean when I say that!

Hope you all are doing well. Those kiddos of yours are as cute as ever!
